Do you need a CAC to access DoD computer networks or facilities? The answer is yes – unless you are a member of the military, a dependent, or retiree, in which case you already have one. Civilians not affiliated with the Department of Defense also need a CAC for access. You can get a CAC at the Nimitz Visitor Control Center, but hours of operation are limited.
