Are you a military family looking for a School Liaison Officer? If so, the Navy’s School Liaison Officer program may be just what you need. These education professionals are located on all major Navy installations and serve as “ombudsmen” between Navy families and schools. They provide assistance in matters pertaining to student education and help to keep military children on track with their education during frequent transitions and extended deployments.
If you have questions on school-age military child education, don’t hesitate to contact your local School Liaison Officer. They will be more than happy to help!
Here are some of the specific responsibilities of a School Liaison Officer:
Advising the installation commander on all K-12 grade educational matters
Fostering a responsive, cooperative relationship between school representatives and the military community
Maintaining school transition support for military children.
Parents, school personnel and community members with questions on school-age military child education are encouraged to contact their local School Liaison Officer.
