The Arts & Crafts Center at Dover AFB is open to active and retired military, their families and Dover Air Force Base civilian employees and their families. Children under 14 years of age are not permitted in the Arts & Crafts Center, unless attending an organized youth class.
The Arts & Crafts Center offers a variety of services and project ideas for military members looking for ways to improve their home, school their children or complete projects around the house. Some of the services offered at the center include custom framing, litho/photo/art printing, plaques, engraving, vinyl graphics, lamination, sign-making and more. They also offer a wide variety of classes every month on a variety of topics, such as pottery wheel throwing, framing and matting, oil/acrylic painting and seasonal décor.
Classes are typically $10-25 each, but military members can save 10% on tuition with their military ID card.
Family and MWR provides a variety of non-credit courses for family members. The center is open Monday through Saturday, 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Classes are available in such diverse areas as sewing (including quilting), woodworking (cabinet installation & refinishing), digital photography, painting (acrylics, watercolor, gouache), cooking (breads, pastries, soups & sauces, even chocolate holiday train), sewing (learn to make your own clothes), upholstery and more. Special courses are offered on some holidays.
