Looking for a program to keep your kids entertained and reading this summer? Look no further than the Shadow Mountain Branch Library. Our Summer Reading Program is jam-packed with games, crafts, and all kinds of themed fun. Kids can work towards age-appropriate reading goals all summer long, and log their minutes online or in person at the Shadow Mountain Library. For kids looking to learn a new skill, our Make & Take Craft Tuesdays might be just what you’re looking for. First Tuesday of every month, adults 18 and over can come take part in a workshop where they will learn to make a new craft. Sponsored by AFAF, these classes always fill up fast, so be sure to register in advance!
If you’re looking for something a little more advanced, stop by the Combat Center Library on your next open Saturday. At Board at the Library, adults 18 and over can take part in board games and card games of all kinds. There’s even an opportunity to participate in tournaments.
If you’re interested in learning how to read better or just want some practice, come stop by the Shadow Mountain Branch Library on a Wednesday night. United Through Reading, a free service available to active duty members of the military, allows you to record yourself reading a story and send it home to your child or children for listening practice.
