The term "vehicle" includes motorcycles, automobiles, trailers, vans, and boats regularly parked or garaged overnight in Arizona.

Child Restraints: (YPG/State)
Children under 40 pounds being carried on a motor vehicle or bicycle must ride in an approved safety seat.

Seat Belts: (YPG/State)
Seat belts are mandatory by law both in AZ and CA.  See Child Restraints above.

Helmets: (YPG/State)
Department of Defense Instructions (DODI) requires persons riding a bicycle on government facilities to wear a safety helmet.  This law also applies to passengers.

Motor vehicles tinted windows:  (State)
Windows cannot be tinted more than 35%.

Bicycle Registration: (YPG/State)
Bicycles do not have to be registered.  Bicycle rodeos are held throughout the year for safety purposes.  Department of Defense Instructions (DODI) requires persons riding a bicycle on government facilities to wear a safety helmet.  This law also applies to passengers.  Children under 40 pounds being carried on a bicycle must ride in an approved safety seat.

For state you are not required to register your bicycle, but you may do so at the Fire Department.  Those under 18 must wear a helmet.

Weapons registration:  (YPG/State)
All Privately Owned Weapons (POWs) brought onto YPG must be registered with the YPG Police.  A properly registered POW may be transported to an authorized event when the weapon and ammunition are physically separated, for example, the POW is carried in the trunk and the ammunition in the glove box.

Boat Registration:  (State)
Boat License (State), Arizona Game & Fish, 9140 E. 28th St., Yuma, AZ  85365, (928) 342-0091.  Fees depend on the length of the boat.

Restricted Areas: AR 190-13:  (YPG)
Range impact areas and all unlighted areas during unlighted hours.

Vehicle Inspections: (State)
Arizona does have a vehicle inspection program.

Traffic: AR 190-5 and YPG Traffic Plan (YPG)
Traffic laws are strictly enforced.  Unannounced sobriety checkpoints are conducted frequently.

Accidents and Criminal Offenses: UCMJ:  (YPG)
All vehicle accidents must be reported to the YPG Police.  Animal strikes (such as deer) must also be reported.

Automobile Insurance: (YPG/State)
Active duty and retired military, their family members, DoD Civilian employees, contractor personnel, and other affiliated persons who operate a POV on YPG are responsible for carrying and producing proof of current motor vehicle insurance for the entire period during which the vehicle is to be operated at YPG.

Criminal Offenses: (YPG)
Military regulations and laws are strictly enforced.  Soldiers are responsible for any offenses incurred by family members.

Community Police: (YPG)
The YPG Police routinely patrol the housing areas.  YPG police department is located in Bldg. 304 and may be reached at (928) 328-2720

Photography: USAYPG Reg 108-4 -The Army airfield and ranges prohibit the taking of photographs.
