The Shipment of POV is accomplished through the  Transportation Office, Household Goods Clerk at (928) 328-6951/DSN 899-6951. You must have orders in hand before shipment of POV is arranged.

When you arrived at Yuma Proving Ground (YPG) and need to find out the status of your POV, you can either call the Household Goods Clerk (928) 328-6951/DSN 899-6951 or go online. Click on Contacts/Links under "where is my POV" The website "where is my POV" provides driving directions, telephone numbers, hours of operations of various shipping ports. Access this website for other useful information.

If you are coming to YPG from another location within CONUS you must drive your POV to YPG (Check with your current Transportation Office for information to exception to policy rule)
Government will not ship or store your POV. You will receive travel pay which consist of the mileage, and per-diem for your travel. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A POV REQUEST TRAVEL THROUGH YOUR CURRENT TRANSPORTATION OFFICE. (PORT CALL) For further assistance contact YPG, Household Goods Clerk, (928) 328-6951/DSN 899-6951.

Shipment of a POV is limited to the member who is ordered to make a PCS to and from or between places outside CONUS.

POV is authorized for shipment only if it is a self-propelled wheeled motor vehicle, which includes station wagons, jeeps, motorcycles, motor scooters, vans pick-ups and panel truck which do not exceed 9 passenger capacity.

You are authorized to ship one POV at government expense. (For more than one POV. PCS orders should state authorizations)  The government will not store your vehicle, nor will you be paid to drive your car home for storage purposes. (Not to be confused with entitlement to move family,  in which case you are paid to move your family home, not your car)

TO SHIP YOUR POV YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

Valid drivers license

Proof of ownership (title ) must be in service member name

Copy of lienholder waiver on official letterhead with adress

Military ID

Copies of orders & any amendments (min of seven)

Complete set of keys, to include gas cap & wheel lock keys (retain a complete set of duplicate keys and have them with you when pick up your POV)

Power of Attorney (POA) if someone else ships POV (Ensure POA has proper ID and all other items required to ship your POV)

Turn off or otherwise disconnect installed auto alarm or anti-theft device prior to turn-in

Ensure your POV Contains no more than one - fourth tank of fuel (gasoline or diesel)

TO PICK UP YOUR POV YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

Proper identification, military ID, valid driver's license

All paperwork given to you at the shipping port
Complete set of keys

Power of Attorney if spouse or agent picks up the POV

Proof of Insurance

If PCS to Germany, you must have USAREUR Driver's License, fire extinguisher, first aid kit and triangle kit.
