If you plan to transition out of the military or you're a military spouse, family member of active duty, you can receive assistance in finding employment.  Resources include individual counseling, Job Search and Career Planning, Hampton Roads employment information, handouts, workshops, on-site computer resume writing and job search software, as well as information and software on college and career choices.  

Transition Assistance Program (TAP) is presented in cooperation with the Department of Labor, Department of Veteran Affairs, Virginia Employment Commission, and Fleet and Family Support Center.  Separating personnel should attend the four-day TAP class six to twelve months prior to their EAOS.  TAP offers:  Job search information, veteran's benefits information, and much more.  Retirees are encouraged to attend up to 36 month prior to retirement.
