In case of an emergency in route to your destination, look for
the nearest military installation for help. If there is no
installation in that area, contact AAA if you are a member, or ask the local
information operator for a hospital or road service, depending on your
emergency. Navy Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS) is a non-profit
charitable organization whose purpose is to assist Navy and Marine Corps
personnel and their families in time of need.
The Society is sponsored by
the Department of the Navy and operates nearly 300 offices ashore and afloat at
Navy and Marine Corps commands throughout the world.
NMCRS provides loans
and grants for emergency needs-not wants! Needs include rent, food,
utilities, deposits for rent, emergency travel in time of death or illness,
funeral expenses, patients share of medical bill after TRICARE, dental care,
disasters, loss of pay records or allotment checks, theft of funds, and
