There are no kennels on base, and pets are NOT allowed in billeting.  Make kennel arrangements far enough in advance prior to your arrival at Wright-Patt.

License for Pets - Veterinary Services - 937-267-6853

INFORMATION ABOUT PETS: In accordance with WPAFBI 48-101, all dogs and cats must be registered.

Only two household-type pets are permitted in family housing areas.

All dogs and cats maintained on base must be registered with the Army Animal Disease Prevention and Control Facility (ADPACF), Area A, Bldg 1435, within 14 days of arrival on base.  Appointments can be made by calling extension 937-257-6853, DSN 787-6853.

If you are planning to reside off base and have a dog, the following will apply:  Every person who owns, keeps, or harbors a dog more than three months of age, shall file, on or after the first day of the preceding December, but before the thirty-first day of January of each year, in the office of the county auditor of the county in which the dog is kept or harbored, an application for registration for the following year, beginning the thirty-first day of January of that year. The board of county commissioners, by resolution, may extend the period for filing the application. The application shall state the age, sex, color, character of hair, whether short or long, and breed, if known, of the dog and the name and address of the owner of the dog. A registration fee of two dollars for each dog shall accompany the application, unless a greater fee has been established under division (A)(2) of this section 955.01 or under section 955.14 of the Revised Code. For more information, contact the county auditor in the county of residence. There are no pet quarantines at Wright-Patterson AFB. Members moving pets to an overseas location must ensure certain requirements are met prior to shipment and arrival of pets.  Some countries require quarantines form 7 to 30 days.  When you attend your outbound Household Goods briefing at TMO, all of your pet questions can be answered at that time, or call the outbound section at 937-257-4199, DSN 787-4199.  When you request your port-call for travel via AMC airlift, you must inform the TMO Passenger Travel Section, Building 262, phone: 937-257-4366, DSN 787-4366, of your intent to ship your pet.  A request must be sent to the Passenger Reservation Center, Scott AFB, IL, along with the request for you and your dependents.  AMC will not confirm your requests until they have confirmed the pet also.
