There is currently no transportation available to and from White
Sands, however for those traveling in and around the area, there are several
modes of transportation available.
Air
El Paso International Airport
is located about 60 miles south of WSMR and offers several choices for Air
travel as well as international flights. There are several airlines to choose
from such as: American Airlines, America West, Continental, Delta, and Soutwest.
The airport also offers several gift shops as well as authentic eateries.
They also host a variety of hotel and rental car accomidations on and near the
airport to meet your travel needs.
AMTRAk
There is also an Amtrak
station located at 700 San Francisco St, in El Paso Tx. The station also offers
Amtrak Thruway connections to the local bus station. For more information on

BUS
The closest bus
station to WSMR is the Grey Hound Bus Station Located at 490 N. Valley Drive, in
Las Cruces NM. This bus has many connections to local cities in and around NM as

Major Highways
There are
several major highways in and Las Cruces, however there is only one major
highway, US 70 that goes right by WSMR. If you take 70 North you will find
yourself in Alamogordo, NM. If you follow Hwy 70 South, you'll travel over the
Organ Mountains and then find yourself in Las Cruces, NM.
Once in Las Cruces,
you'll notice that two major interstates cross HWY 70. The first is
I-10 and if you travel east on I-10, you'll find yourself heading towards El
Paso, Tx. If you choose to go west, you'll find yourself heading towards
Arizona. A the second major interstate is I-25 and you can take that
north towards Albuqeruqe and Sante Fe, NM.
