If you are new to the work force, want to develop new skills, considering a career change, or have been out of the job market for a long time, consider volunteer work.  The benefits of volunteering are many: learn new skills through on-the-job training; flexible hours; specialized training sessions; opportunities to meet people; satisfaction of helping others; networking with community agencies; and gain work experience.

For many people, volunteer service is a special source of personal satisfaction and growth.  Many agencies provide opportunities for volunteers on the base.  The Red Cross, Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, Military Affiliated Radio System (MARS), and the Fleet and Family Support Programs are just a sample of agencies in need of volunteers.
