The
Child Development Center provides care for children age 8 weeks to 5
years with child Care available year round. Open to all
active duty and retirees. There is a rather long waiting
list, however registration is accepted in advance. A waiting
list application form, DD 2606 can be obtained at your current duty
station. A completed form and a copy of service member's
orders attached will access the waiting list. Certification
that immunizations are current must be provided prior to
admission. Breakfast, morning snack, lunch, and afternoon
snack are served daily as required by the USDA Food
Program. The Center has a capacity of 110
children.
The Family Child Care Program provides child care in a one on one home
environment. All Family Child Care Providers must be
certified and regular inspections are conducted by the FCC
Staff. They must have a background investigation completed
as well as meet all training requirements, safety and health
regulations, and pass home inspections with the Fire Department,
Preventive Medicine, and the FCC Staff. Only those homes
that are certified are sanctioned by the Commanding Officer of NAS
Whidbey Island. The program serves children from 6 weeks
through 11 years of age. Some providers are eligible to
accept special needs families. For registration information

Hourly Care is provided through both the Child Development Center and
Family Home Care Programs. It is necessary to pre-register
in advance so that your child is ready for hourly child care when you
need it.
The School Age Care Program provides before and after school care in
conjunction with the Oak Harbor and Coupeville School
Districts.
The Youth Center provides recreational activities after school for
children in 1-8 grades. Special events, field trips, and
intramural sports are offered for teens.
Summer Day Camps provide activities and programs for children kindergarten through grade 6.
