Fort Monmouth, NJ is approximately 110 miles south of West Point.
Take the Garden State Parkway South to exit 105. At the exit you will see a sign
for Ft. Monmouth that directs you to take a right turn. You will make a loop and
continue to follow signs, stay to the right and after one more turn you will
come to the main gate straight ahead.
Fort Hamilton is located on the
southwestern tip of Brooklyn, New York at the base of the Verrazano-Narrows
Bridge. It is about 70 miles, or one and a half hours, from West Point. Take the
Palisades Interstate Parkway to the I-87 exit toward White Plains (exit 9-E).
Cross the Tappan Zee Bridge. Stay to the right after crossing the Tappan Zee
Bridge, get off Saw Mill River Parkway (the name changes to Henry Hudson Parkway
then to the West Side Highway). Go through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel and take
Route 278 toward Staten Island. Take the last exit before the Verrazano-Narrows
Bridge (92nd Street Exit). Turn right at the traffic light. Go one block then
turn left onto Fort Hamilton Parkway (FHP). Follow FHP to the Main Gate that
will be on your left at the end of the street.

The 105th Airlift Wing is a C-5A strategic airlift unit
within the Air National Guard. It is the only Air National Guard unit with
this unique mission.The 105th Airlift Wing is comprised of about 18
squadrons and flights with personnel in a numbers of career fields, such
as: doctors, medics, aircrew, cargo handlers, administration, information
management, security forces, graphics, photography, equal opportunity,
chaplain services, human resources, comptroller, recruiting, information
technology, civil engineering, aircraft maintenance, and supply. There are
currently about 1600 traditional guardsmen attached to the 105th. |
