Branch Medical Clinic Wallops Island (BMC Wallops) is located at
NASA Wallops Flight Facility, Bldg. F-160, Wallops Island, VA. The
clinic is staffed by an Independent Duty Corpsman and a junior
Corpsman. BMC Wallops supports the medical and dental needs of
approximately 100 command members. BMC Wallops is limited in its
services due to remote location. Active duty members may be treated
for general illness or injury with routine laboratory specimens procured,
analyze, and reported to corpsman. In the event further treatment is
necessary, patients will be directed to parent medical facility NAVAL MEDICAL
CLINIC ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND, or transported via corpsman/ambulance to PENINSULA
REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER, SALISBURY, MARYLAND. Medical and dental
needs of significant Family Members are met by TRICARE approved community
physicians/dds.
Command members are provided dental services for one week
each quarter during the fiscal year. Active duty members will receive
mandatory exams, operative work such as fillings and cleanings. This
is provided by a dental team temporary assigned to Branch Medical
Clinic. The team consists of one dental officer and two dental
technicians.
