The major question that any
teen or pre-teen wants to know when moving to a new area is "What is there to do
for fun?". Well, Naval Base Ventura County is right in the middle of
an area where "fun" is abundant.
First of all, the NBVC has one of the
best "surfer" beaches from Canada to Baja. Our coastline is
South-facing and that produces the highest and fullest and longest lasting
breakers. Surfers from everywhere are always trying to get the
opportunity to surf on the beaches which are reserved "just for
you". Of course, swimming, sunning, and volleyball are also great
sports if you are not a surfer.
The Chapel of Faith has great programs
for teens. They take interesting trips and do all kinds of fun
things. Be sure to check in with them once you arrive.
Both
sites have movie theaters with a good selection of movies and it costs nothing
(except for the price of any refreshments you buy). Enjoy movies on
Friday and Saturday nights.
The MWR Youth Centers have a variety of
entertainment from open recreation to trips and other activities. No
matter where you live, a youth center is available for your use.
