The Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) programs are a great source of information on recreational opportunities. Programs are available to active and reserve forces as well as DoD civilians, retirees and their families.

For a complete listings of all local area events, special prices on local attraction or theme park tickets, hotel/moteland rental car arrangements contact the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department's information, tickets and travel.

The MWR Information, Tickets and Tours (ITT) Office at Port Hueneme is located at Building 1167, phone number (805)982-4284.  The ITT Office at Point Mugu is located in Building 16 in the Navy Exchange Complex, phone number (805)989-7628. Both offices serve as point-of-contact for prices and information regarding popular Southern California tourist attractions, such as Disneyland, Universal Studios, Magic Mountain, the San Diego Zoo, etc., as well as for information on camping, boating, skiing, etc.

Take advantage of the services at the ITT Offices to help make your tour at Naval Base Ventura County a special time.  All of the MWR facilities and services are available for use by active duty military, family members and DOD civilians at either site.  The usual kinds of on-base leisure activity facilities (swimming pools, golf courses, gymnasiums, fitness equipment and classes, hobby shops, bowling alleys, recreational clubs/food service facilities, movie theatres, sports fields) and even some unusual ones (ocean kayaking) may be found here.   Surf.net( Point Mugu site) is the home of the Liberty Program, which is designed for single active duty military personnel 18 years of age and older. Computers, video games, mini theater and pool tables are available. Coffee.net located onboard Port Hueneme offers similar activites. Movies at the Point Mugu Theater and the Port Hueneme(Needham Theatre) are free. The Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department's Youth Centers on base and in Camarillo  offer great activities for kids after school and on weekends.   The Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department Youth Centers provides youth sports program for soccer, basketball and flag football.  Youth baseball is provided by a Youth Sports/Baseball League.
