The financial assistance program at your current installation can provide you with tips on moving to a high cost of living area.
RENTAL PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM(RPP): The RPP was established with various area rental agencies to charge military members a rent commensurate with their BAH. In return, the military member agrees to have rent deducted directly from pay through an allotment. This program is designed to help defray the high cost of housing in the Annapolis area. Contact the USNA Housing Office at 1-800-421-1474.

Most families have important papers and documents that they CANNOT afford to lose. These papers are difficult, if not impossible, to replace. Do not pack these materials in your household goods shipment. Hand carry the needed documents to your next duty station. To ensure they are not packed, place them in your briefcase, suitcase, or some other specifically marked container. Place with your other hand carry items so it won't be inadvertently packed. A sample list of papers/documents to hand carry might include: Passports, Immunization records, Official birth, marriage, divorce, adoption, or death certificates, Wills, Powers of attorney, Naturalization papers and complete info on citizenship proceedings, Tax records & other documents necessary to file taxes, House or property deeds & associated papers received at closing, Military records, Bank books, savings bonds, and other securities, Social Security cards, Car titles and, where necessary, shipping papers, Sales receipts for household furniture & other high value items, Household shipping inventories from other shipments, Insurance papers, Official orders, Medical and school records, Employment records and references, Pet records, and Personal articles that can never be replaced.
