The Federal government is a natural place for military spouses to
look for employment. There are approximately 26,000 Federal jobs in
the Dade/Broward area. Many times, the spouses are given military
spouse preference in DoD employment.
The most expedient way to locate
Federal government is by using the Internet to search for jobs on the Civilian
Personnel On-Line website or the USAJOBS website. Both websites have
search engines that allow the user to indicate the type of position, the salary
and location. The search will produce a list of employment
opportunities that fulfill the required elements of the job
search.
