PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION SUBSIDY:
The U.S. Coast Guard is
eligible for a Public Transportation Subsidy. If you plan on riding
the Tri-Rail, MetroRail, or MetroBus system, you will reimbursed up to $60/month
for your transportation costs. This program allows you to save money
on gas and wear and tear on your car, and even more importantly, your stress
level in South Florida traffic! You must sign-up for the program

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY:
There are 4 major modes of
public ground transportation: MetroRail, MetroMover, MetroBus, and
Tri-Rail.
METRORAIL: Metrorail is an above ground rail system
that primarily runs north and south. It has 20 stations beginning at
Dadeland South on U.S. 1 in Miami and ending at Okeechobee in
Hialeah. It would take 42 minutes to travel the length of the
Metrorail. During rush hours, trains arrive every 5
minutes. Most stations have parking available for $2 per day or a
parking pass can be purchased for $5 per month. Parking is free on

METROMOVER: MetroMover is a 1.9 mile downtown
Miami "people mover" system that connects with the MetroRail at Brickell Station
and Government Center. It also connects with the MetroBus throughout
downtown Miami. Hours of operation are 6 am until
midnight.
METROBUS: The MetroBus consists of 70 routes
countywide that connect with the MetroRail and MetroMover. Hours of
operation are 4:30 am until 2:13 am. For more information contact

TRI-RAIL: Tri-Rail is a 67 mile rail system that
connects Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. There are 15
stops between Miami International and West Palm Beach. Tri-Rail also
offers free connecting shuttles to and from Miami International, Fort
Lauderdale/Hollywood International, and Palm Beach International
airports. Round-trip fares range from $2.50 to $5.00 per person per

County Buses:
Bus fares are reasonable, and rider
ship is more than 24 million per year. 18 designated wheelchair bus
routes, social service transportation, airport service and connections to
