DRIVER'S LICENSES:
You have 30 days to obtain a Florida
driver's license from the time you do one or more of the
following:
1. Accept a job in Florida
2. Enroll your
children in a local school
3. Register to vote in
Florida
4. Claim a homestead exemption
VEHICLE
REGISTRATION:
Within 30 days of moving to Florida, you must obtain a Florida
license plate if:

The weight of your car determines the cost of your
vehicle tag. The tag is renewable yearly during your birth
month. You may renew by mail.
LICENSE PLATES:
To get your
license plate, you must present at a tag office your:
> Vehicle
registration
> Proof of insurance (Florida requires car owners to purchase
No-Fault insurance)
> Emissions test certificate (required)

Automobile title
NOTE: If you have an out-of-state title, the
office will keep your title and mail a Florida title to you within 30
days.
Non-residents (military personnel and students are classified as
non-residents), who have a car in Florida for more than 90 days during a year
are required to have No-Fault Insurance.
BOATING LICENSE:
Florida does
not require a boating license. However, anyone born after Sept. 30,
1980, must complete a state-approved boating safety class in order to operate a
vessel with a 10-horsepower engine or larger.
BOAT REGISTRATION:
A
valid out-of-state registration of any pleasure craft is recognized for up to 90
days in Florida. Beyond that, boats must have a valid Florida
registration. All craft, motor or sail, regardless of size, must be
registered annually. Call the Tax Collector's office for fees.
