It is hard enough being a new parent in itself, but living in a new area can make you feel isolated.  Help is available to assist new parents in coping with any problems that may arise.  The following is a list of organizations to help new or expectant parents in the area.

COAST GUARD ASSISTANCE:
The ISC Miami's Work-Life Family Resources Specialist provides information on:

> Special Needs Children/Parenting groups
> Coast Guard In Home Childcare Certification Process and Training
> Coast Guard Adoption Reimbursement Program 800-872-4957 x. 307

Additionally Coast Guard Mutual Assistance has partnered with Kids Wear of Nordstrom department store to provide a Layette package containing a receiving blanket, clothes, and other items for a newborn baby to the family of junior members of the Coast Guard.  The specifics of the program are outlined in the Coast Guard Mutual Assistance Manual.

The Florida Directory of Early Childhood Services has information about a wide range of services available in the community, including therapies, support groups, and early intervention programs.  Call 305-594-4466.
