No matter how well you plan, emergencies happen.
GENERAL
INFORATION:
Carry your important papers (orders, ID cards, passports,
shot records, travelers checks, etc.) with you--not packed in your luggage or
your household goods. Write down telephone numbers for your
relatives, your sponsor, and your Unit. They will be invaluable in
case of an emergency while traveling. The American Red Cross and
other agencies are available for emergency aid. Red Cross phone
numbers are usually listed in the white pages of the local phone
directory. They can help with emergency financial assistance and
contacting people that will need to know where you are and what's
happening.
If it is a car emergency, call AAA or your motor
club. If you do not belong to one of these organizations, now might
be a good time to think of signing up. For a nominal fee, most of
them provide emergency towing, starting, jumping services.
Always have
some savings set aside for emergencies.
