While every special education requirement may not be able to be
met in every school, there is a broad range of services and programs
available. Children who have special needs and requirements may be
transported to a different school within the local area to make sure their
specific needs are met, if they cannot be accomodated at the closest
school. Members should contact the Special Needs Identification and
Assignment Coordination Process Office (formerly EFMP) at their current base
before leaving, and they should contact the Travis office upon
arrival.
We would also recommend that you visit the local school where
you plan to live to find out what services are readily available and how your
child's individual needs can be met.
