The Family Readiness Program in the Family Support Center assists family members who remain in the area when the military member goes TDY, is deployed, or goes on a remote assignment. Aspects of the program include:
1. Hearts Apart Support Group - A monthly meeting for spouses and children. Activities include dinners, holiday functions, crafts, and community activities.
2. Morale phone and videophone calls - Once a week, 15-minute phone calls are possible through the base operator. Videophones are available at the Family Support Center and Security Forces Squadron.
3. Newsletters - Mailed or e-mailed monthly including articles on how to deal with stress, helping the children deal with Mom or Dad being away, etc.
4. Operation KIDS - An annual event where kids age 5 and up can experience what their deployed parent goes through by "enlisting in the Air Force",going through a deployment mobility line, eating MRE's, etc.
