If you are interested in base housing go
to your housing office at your current location with a copy of your orders and
they can help you send an advance housing application.
If you are
interested in off-base housing your BAH will generally cover your rent. Be
prepared with any PCS move you may need extra cash for one month's rent,
security deposit, pet fee, and utility deposits. The average two
bedroom apartment begins at $550.00. Rental homes with 1800 sg ft, 3
Bd, 2 Baths start at $850 and up 4 bedroom houses are more expensive and
difficult to obtain.
There are several utility
companies. When you are about to rent, find out what utility company
services your area. Ask what type of plans they offer. For example,
one of the most expensive offers a "budget plan." You pay the same
summer and winter, which might be, help. Whenever you ask for any
service downtown, tell them that you are active duty Air Force. You
can go by your orderly room to get paperwork so you don't have to pay deposits
at some utility companies. We do have one utility company that will base your
security deposit on your credit report.
