There are several means of transportation available at Shaw
AFB.
The 20th Transportation Squadron provides taxi service on base for
OFFICIAL BUSINESS ONLY. In addition, shuttle service to the Columbia
airport is available with advance notification. New arrivals to the
Columbia airport can also request pick-up from the base taxi
service. It is highly recommended you contact base taxi prior to
arrival time. This will avoid lengthy delays. Base taxi pick-up
service from the Columbia Airport to Shaw AFB is limited to parties of three or
more (except for O6's and above. Reimbursement for individuals having
to use commercial taxi can be claimed through the base finance office.
Taxi
service is available from the Columbia Airport to Shaw AFB for approximately
$65. For most, this includes up to five people without additional
charges.
There are 2 shuttle services that travel from the
Columbia Metropolitan Airport to
Shaw.
(1) Earth
Shuttle, 24 hour notice if possible so they can be there for you, but if you do
not provide 24 hour notice they will get there as soon as possible. Call
803-714-0080. Cost is between $55 for first two people and $10 dollars per
person. Normally, there is no charge for small toddlers and
infants.
(2) Shuttleways,
803-783-0265. Also would like 24 hours advance notice if
possible. Cost is $ 75 per trip?this amount includes up to two
individuals. This company charges $5.00 per person after the first two
people. There is no charge for children two years and under.
