Seymour Johnson AFB is home of the Koritz Clinic, named in honor of Major Thomas "Doc" Koritz who was a flight surgeon/pilot killed during Operation Desert Shield. As a small community clinic, primary care and limited specialty care is provided in the clinic. Most specialty care, to include obstetrics, is referred to a local network of providers. Health care requiring an inpatient stay is also referred to a local hospital or medical center. The principal mission of the 4th Medical Group is to maintain the combat readiness of the 4th Fighter Wing. The 4th Medical Group serves the primary care needs of all TRICARE Prime enrollees as well as offering space available care to other military beneficiaries. Pharmacy, Radiology and Laboratory services are available to all military beneficiaries.
TRICARE Prime beneficiaries are enrolled to one of the following teams, Blue, Gold (Primary Care), Green (Flight Medicine) or Silver (Pediatrics). An appointment may be scheduled by calling (919)722-1802 or if out ot the area 1-888-431-6783. You also may use TRICARE ONLINE to obtain routine appointments with the clinic PCM 24 hours a Day. Step by step instructions fro registration and procedures are given. It also provides lists of providers, health care and drug information, plus a lot more. It it is after hours, weekend, holiday, down day or the second Wednesday fo the month after 1100, and you need to speak with a PCM, they can be reached by calling (919) 580-4184.
The HEALTH AND WELLNESS CENTER is located on the second floor of the Base Fitness Center. They offer a variety of services to include fitness testing and enhancement, smoking cessation classes and diet counseling.
All personnel should visit the TRICARE Service Center upon transitioning into the community; advisors will assist you to ensure you are prepared for all your health care needs.
