SPEED LIMITS:Traffic Speed limits on base, Housing areas
15 MPH, if speed is not listed, 25 MPH. Highest Speed limit on base is 40
MPH
SEAT BELTS: A new Michigan Seat Belt Law makes it MANDATORY
FOR DRIVERS TO BUCKLE UP. State and local police are enforcing this
law.
VEHICLE CHECKS: Vehicles and personnel are subject to search
at any time prior to being allowed to enter the
installation.
ACCIDENTS (EXCEPT FOR FLIGHT LINES) DoD police
enforce Federal, State and Local laws. Accident reports are available at the DoD
police station five days after the incident.
CRIMINAL OFFENSES:
Crimes on base are investigated by DoD police. In addition to the DoD police's
investigation, Criminal Investigation Division may also get
involved.
CRIME STOP: There is an active crime prevention program
on base. Housing areas have "Safe Homes" for children in case of threats, bad
weather, animals, etc.
RESTRICTED AREAS: Flight lines require
special passes. Access to hangers and flight lines is controlled by armed
Security police.
