If you live off base, your children will attend school serving
the area in which you live. There are 264 schools in the five
counties surrounding Scott AFB. There are seven school districts with
8 middle schools within a 10 mile range of Scott Air Force Base. Many
base families choose to live in the towns of Belleville, Mascoutah, O'Fallon,
Shiloh, and Fairview Heights.
Mascoutah school District 19 offers a
comprehensive program for all students, including those with
disabilities. Sports offered include: bowling, boys
baseball, boys basketball, boys tennis, cheerleading, cross country, and
football. Girls sports offered include:
basketball, soccer, softball, tennis, golf, pom poms, soccer, track
and field, and volleyball.
Clubs and Groups include: 'Spirit'
Newspaper, band, Beta Club, Blackburn College Science Day, chorus, fall
play, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Future Farmers of
America, Future Business Leaders of America, German Club, Partnership
Program, Harmony Singers, Mascoutah Yearbook Staff, Math Team, Model UN,
Outreach, Purple Crush Spirit Club, S.A.D.D. Club, Scholar Bowl, Science Club,
Senior Olympiad. Spanish Club, Student Council, Winterguard/Colorguard, and
Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering.
There is one activities bus
that departs the school at 1505. If sport practices or activities go
past this time transportation is the responsibility of the parents.
