Spouses of active duty military members who are CURRENT career or
career-conditional employees in the Federal service, or who are reinstatement
eligible, or who have at least 12 months overseas civil service credit, may be
registered for the Military Spouse Preference Program by calling for an
appointment at the Scott AFB Civilian Personnel

For first time
federal employees, getting into the competitive service may be a lengthy
process. Air Force Personnel Center (AFPC) at Randolph AFB, San
Antonio, TX, manages most federal employment functions at Scott
