If you are experiencing a problem at home, call for help. Abuse, violence and neglect do not just go away without intervention.
The major program areas are Outreach, the New Parent Support Program (NPSP), and Treatment/Counseling Program. Outreach programs and services include training, classes, workshops, and groups to address the issues of parenting, couples communication, marriage enrichment, self-esteem, sexual abuse prevention, and conflict resolution. The Moms, Pops and Tots Playgroup is also available to parents and their toddlers/preschoolers.
The NPSP program provides nurses who make home visits to provide education, assistance, and support. The nurses work with families with children ages 3 years and younger. Free books, tapes, calendars, growth charts, tubby testers (for bath water); and assistance with obtaining breast pumps in coordination with Air Force Aid are available to program participants. In addition, the nurses provide classes such as "Countdown to Delivery" (2nd trimester class)and "Baby Basics" (3rd trimester class). Parents of newborns are also encouraged to come to the "Baby & Me Playgroup."
Family Advocacy Strength-based Therapy (FAST) services are provided on a space-available basis for individuals and couples at risk for child or spouse maltreatment. Licensed clinical social workers provide these services.
