From birth on up, children do not come with instructions.
Usually that's the time a person becomes their parent.  Good or bad, people tend to react to what they know and usually it is in the same manner they were disciplined. There are many resources and agencies on base to help provide positive parenting, from prenatal to teens.

The Family Support Center at Schiever AFB offers parenting classes and couples relationship building classes.

The Family Advocacy Nurse Program at Peterson AFB has health and safety education for new mothers. Growth and development and specific needs resource education are also provided.  The Family Advocacy Outreach and Prevention Program at Peterson offers "Great Beginnings," a new parent program, and other parenting classes.

If you are expecting your first child or third and looking for a little help with the challenges of parenting, visit the Family Support Center or Family Advocacy to find out what is available.
