If you experience an emergency while in transit to your new duty
station, always call your new command to advise them of the situation and to
formally request assistance if needed. If possible, look for the
nearest military installation for assistance. If driving, call AAA if
you are a member, or ask the local information operator (411) for names and
phone numbers of hospitals, road service information, or other travelers
assistance organizations.

1-800-FSC-LINE*** The Family Service Center representative can give
you information on Tricare (CHAMPUS) issues, information and referral, where the
nearest military base is to your present location, and answer other questions
and concerns.
If you are going overseas, call the 1-800 phone number on
your orders if you experience an emergency you cannot deal with. If you need
financial assistance for emergency travel, funeral expenses or disaster relief,
your request will be handled on a walk-in basis during our hours of operation at
any Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society office. After hours and on
weekends, the American Red Cross should be contacted.
The American Red
Cross office provides interest-free loans through the Navy-Marine Corps Relief
Society for emergency travel in conjunction with emergency leave
orders. Additional assistance may be provided to avoid privation and
basic maintenance, including but not limited to food shelter and
clothing. Emergency communication is available 24 hours a day, 7 days
a week by calling 619 524-5727. Workers obtain health and welfare
reports, and provide short-term counseling and referrals as
needed. Red Cross offers an extensive list of health and safety
courses.

need emergency assistance.
