SERVICES
FOR NON ACTIVE-DUTY MEMBERS:
Due to congressional mandate, military dental
clinics are staffed and budgeted to provide dental care for active duty members
only. Dental care for family members of active duty personnel is
provided through the Family Member Dental Care Program. Retirees and
their families have the option of participating in the TRICARE Retiree Dental
Care program offered by Delta USA.
Appointments for definitive dental
treatment are available for active duty members only. All other
patients are strongly encouraged to seek routine and emergency care from
civilian dentists who participate in the above mentioned dental insurance
programs. Information on both plans is available at our front desk
(327-8056).
Non-active duty members may report to Sick Call Mon-Fri at
1230 hours for evaluation of urgent dental problems with the understanding that
they will be seen on a space-available basis only, depending on the availability
of the dental staff. Active duty members have priority, so
space-available care often requires long periods of waiting. Even
then, non-active duty patients are guaranteed only an assessment of their chief
complaint.
All patients must present a valid military ID card for
verification of DEERS eligibility before treatment can be rendered and a parent
or guardian must accompany all minors.
For questions or further
assistance, the dental squadron commander may be contacted at (478)
327-8070.
