There are several public and private colleges and universities as
well as technical colleges in the local communities of Warner Robins, Fort
Valley, Macon, and Cochran. In addition, other colleges and
universities offer various degree programs through the Robins AFB Education
Office. Below are names and descriptions of adult education

Macon State
College:
Macon State College is one of two state colleges of the
University System of Georgia. Serving the central Georgia region with
professionally oriented degree programs, this suburban college offers bachelor's
degrees that address the area's workforce needs by preparing students in the
important disciplines of business, communications, health and information
technology. As a complement to its baccalaureate mission, Macon State also
offers 40 quality two-year transfer programs.
Middle Georgia
Technical College:
Middle Georgia Technical College (MGTC) offers
Associate of Applied Technology degree programs, diploma programs and
certificate programs, and A Cooperative Education Program with Robins Air Force
Base. MGTC is in Partnership with the secondary educational systems in the area
to provide seamless educational opportunities for high school students. Adult
Literacy, industry specific training including Quick Start Programs and an array

Mercer
University:
College of Liberal Arts (Macon): The oldest of the
University's schools, the College remains the center of Mercer's educational
programs. It offers a full array of baccalaureate programs in the humanities,
fine arts, sciences and social sciences and the following degrees: bachelor of
arts, bachelor of science, bachelor of music education, bachelor of music in
performance, bachelor of music in sacred music, bachelor of science in medicine,
bachelor of science in dentistry and bachelor of science in medical
technology.
Eugene W. Stetson School of Business and Economics (Macon and
Atlanta): Established in 1984, the Eugene W. Stetson School of
Business and Economics, provides a balanced curriculum that blends the
theoretical with the application so students can put what they learn into
practice immediately. The School offers the BBA degree with the innovative MAPS
(Managed Academic Path to Success) program in Macon, an evening and weekend BBA
degree completion program in Atlanta and an evening BBA degree in Douglas
County. In graduate studies, the School offers the MBA degree in all three
locations, with the Executive MBA degree and the Master's in Science in Health
Care Management only in Atlanta.
School of Engineering
(Macon): One of only two engineering schools in Georgia, the School
admitted its first students in 1985 and has an amazing 80 percent retention rate
for freshman students. It offers the following degrees: bachelor of science in
engineering, bachelor of science, master of science in engineering, master of
science and master of engineering.
Tift College of Education (Macon,
Atlanta, and Centers): In 1995, teacher education programs in the
College of Liberal Arts and the academic programs of the University College were
consolidated to form the College of Education. It offers the
following degrees: bachelor of science in education, bachelor of science in
social science, bachelor of liberal studies, master of education and specialist
in education.
College of Continuing and Professional Studies (Atlanta,
Douglas County, Henry County, Eastman, and Macon): Established
January 2003, the College of Continuing and Professional Studies is committed to
serving adult learners with distinctive interdisciplinary undergraduate and
graduate degree programs that integrate theory and practice in unique
ways. As the newest academic unit at Mercer University, the College's
faculty and professional support staff are committed to offering quality
learning experiences and the personal attention and support that will enable
nontraditional learners to achieve their educational and career goals. The
College offers undergraduate degrees in criminal justice, human services,
technology and communication, organization leadership, as well as general
education offerings. On the graduate level, the College of Continuing
and Professional Studies offers a master's degree program in community
counseling.
Walter F. George School of Law (Macon): The Mercer
University Walter F. George School of Law is one of the oldest law schools in
the country. The Woodruff Curriculum, Mercer Law School's model curriculum,
focuses on ethics and practical skills. It was honored with the Gambrelli
Professionalism Award from the American Bar Association for its "depth and
excellence" and "obvious commitment to professionalism" in 1997.
School
of Medicine (Macon): The School of Medicine is dedicated to the lives
of Georgians and emphasizes in its curriculum the need for physicians to
practice primary care and other needed specialities in rural and other
medically-underserved areas of the state. In addition to the doctor of medicine
degree, the School of Medicine offers master's degrees in public health, family
therapy and family services.
Fort Valley State
University:
Fort Valley State University is organized into three
Colleges: The College of Agriculture, Home Economics and Allied Programs; The
College of Arts, Sciences and Education; and The College of Graduate Studies and
Extended Education. Academic departments within these colleges offer major
degree programs of study leading to the award of the Associate, Baccalaureate,
Master's and Specialist Degrees. The Doctor of Education Degree is offered
cooperatively with the University of Georgia.
Georgia College and
State University:
Founded in 1889, Georgia College & State University
is located in the center of Milledgeville, Georgia's antebellum capital.
Designated by the University System as Georgia's public liberal arts university,
this residential institution offers students a challenging array of 58
undergraduate degree programs and 32 graduate-level programs in the colleges of
arts and sciences, business administration, education and health sciences.
Middle Georgia College:
Middle Georgia College is a two-year,
residential college located almost exactly at the center of the state of
Georgia. Cochran, Georgia, a city of 5,000 people, is home to the college. It is
about 40 miles south of Macon, conveniently located near the crossroads of two
major interstate highways.
Georgia Military College:
As a
liberal arts community college, Georgia Military College has designed its degree
programs to prepare students to transfer to senior level colleges or to enter
specific career fields upon graduation. The academic mission of
Georgia Military College involves the development of the intellect and the
elevation of character. The learning based curriculum of the college is,
therefore, a blend of expected student learning objectives of intellectual
development in each course and in ethical development.
