The MCCS Division's commitment to improving the quality of life
at Quantico is to provide innovative recreation programs and quality goods and
services at reasonable and competitive prices. The three operating
branches of MCCS are the Recreation, Retail/Services, and Food and Hospitality
constantly strive to meet the leisure, social and daily needs of our Base
community.
Proceeds from the revenue generating MCCS activities result in
a direct reinvestment in recreational program, ensuring a quality of life our
Marines and Sailor deserve.
The Retail/Services Branch offers a full
range of shopping and service needs. The main and branch exchanges
carry products from convenience items to clothing, electronics and sporting
goods. The convenience stores, package store (wine & distilled
spirits), gas station, car washes, dry-cleaning facility and fast food
franchises round out the retail and service facilities.
The Food and
Hospitality Branch offers leisurely fine dining to fast food
services. Full dining services include buffets, brunches, private
party and banquet facilities and catering. Dinner theaters are
popular and club facilities have dancing and comfortable lounges for
socializing. The community has access to many snack bars conveniently
located throughout the base, some offering special after-hour events and
entertainment.
Quantico's extensive recreational facilities and programs
provide well-rounded activities for single and married population, as well as
children and families. From boating and fishing at the Marina to the
same plus camping and picnicking at Lunga Park and Reservoir, or swimming at the
All Hands Pool. Aquatic and leisure activities are abundant at
Quantico. Other facilities available include an 18-hole golf course
and driving range, bowling center, auto hobby shop, ballfields, tennis courts, a
fully equipped gymnasium and fitness center with racquetball and basketball
courts, weight room and saunas. The Recreation/Information Ticket
& Tours Office is the centralized location for gear issue service, discount
tickets to major sporting events, area attractions and special trips.
Our
fitness and athletic programs include intramural and varsity sports for men and
women, bodybuilding competitions, fun runs, an annual health fair and
tournaments in golf, bowling and more. Youth activity programs offer
year-round sports in basketball, football, soccer, baseball, and swimming,
individual classes in dance, jujitsu and gymnastics to summer day camp and
specialty camps in horsemanship, sailing, bowling and golf. The Teen
Center holds monthly theme dances and special trips to local
attractions. Special events are a big part of our youth program;
whether it's a water carnival at the base pool, Youth Fun & Fitness Day, the
Halloween Festival or Breakfast with Santa. Call the Community

(800)336-4663. Youth Activities sponsors special events through the
year that are fun-filled and creative. They include the Wacky Winter
Olympics, Easter Eggstravaganza, Youth Fun and Fitness, student honor roll
parties, Lunga Summer Camp, Water Carnival, Halloween Festival and Breakfast
with Santa. The Month of the Military Child is a month long
celebration honoring our military children with contests, art and talent shows
and a child identification program. Ending the festivities is the Kid
Fest at Lunga Park with games, races, balloons, clowns, entertainment and
food.
