Public transportation is limited to the Monterey Salinas Transit,
buses that run most of the time (with abbreviated holiday and weekend
schedules), and taxis, which tend to be expensive. If you live on the economy,
you will probably drive to and from the Presidio which will take no longer than
a half hour.
