There are three shopping malls within easy driving range, and two
outlet centers, plus several "downtown" centers. Pretty much anything
you want can be found in the local area. There is a local sales tax of about
7.25 cents depending on the city. The Post Exchange on Ord Military Community
offers a full range of items, whereas the Exchange at the Presidio has more
"military clothing" items. The Navy Exchange at the Naval Postgraduate School is
different yet, with an extensive book section.
