Your children will go to the school nearest to where you decide
to live. If that is Monterey, Marina, Seaside or Del Rey Oaks, Monterey
Peninsula Unified School District MPUSD) will be the governing body. If in
Carmel, it will be the Carmel School District. If it's Pacific Grove, it will be
the Pacific Grove District, and if it's Salinas, it will be one of several
districts there.
High School Level (9-12)
Credits are awarded
on the basis of five credits for each semester passed. No credit is earned for a
grade of "F." Within this curriculum students have the opportunity to take
advanced placement (AP) courses or honors courses. Also, MPUSD high schools have
selected academy and pathway programs that have a special interdisciplinary
focus.
HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
All students
must successfully complete 230 credits to graduate. Students must pass 40
credits of English, 20 credits of mathematics, 20 credits of science, 35 credits
of history, 10 credits of foreign language, 10 credits of fine arts or
vocational arts, 20 credits of physical education, 5 credits of health and 70
credits of electives.
