Your children will go to the school nearest to where you decide
to live. If that is Monterey, Marina, Seaside or Del Rey Oaks, Monterey
Peninsula Unified School District MPUSD) will be the governing body. If in
Carmel, it will be the Carmel School District. If it's Pacific Grove, it will be
the Pacific Grove District, and if it's Salinas, it will be one of several
districts there.
For MPUSD:
KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION
Please
bring the following required documentation with you at the time of registration:
- Proof of age verifying that the child will be 5 years of age on or before
December 2, 2003. (birth certificate, baptismal certificate, passport,
immigration certificate, Bible record, or affidavit from the parent/guardian)
- Proof of residence (utility bill or other documentation)
- Immunization records (see below)
IMMUNIZATION AND MEDICAL
RECORDS REQUIREMENTSKINDERGARTEN
- POLIO: 4 doses at any age (but three doses meet the requirement if at
least one dose was given on or after the fourth birthday)
- DPT: 5 doses at any age (but four doses meet the requirement if at least
one dose was given on or after the fourth birthday)
- MMR: 2 doses (both doses on or after first birthday, on dose may be
measles only vaccine)
- HEPATITIS B: 3 doses
FIRST GRADEA physical
examination is required for first grade. If a child has proof of a physical
after February 1, 2002, this will also meet the first grade
requirement.

Elementary K-5 At the elementary
level all students receive daily instruction in language arts that includes an
emphasis in phonics, spelling listening, speaking, reading and writing, with
high quality literatures.
Mathematics instruction includes an
emphasis on basic computation skills, and explaining math concepts and
applications through problem solving activities. Instruction is also provided in
history, science, art, health, vocal and instrumental music and physical
education
Elementary students have the opportunity to
participate in a variety of special assemblies and enrichment activities at each
school.
