A diverse manufacturing base exists in Pine Bluff. Principal
industries in the area are engaged in processing cotton, the production of
cottonseed oil, the manufacture of paper and wood products, the manufacture of
electric transformers and metal fabrication. Chemicals, sand and gravel are also
produced in the area. Major employers in the area include Jefferson Regional
Medical Center, Cottonbelt Railroad, and International Paper.
