The Pine Bluff Arsenal Child Development Center is housed in a
new, state-of-the art facility. In December 2005 the Child Development Center
received it's National Accreditation from the National Association for the
Education of Young Children. The center offers a variety of quality development
programs for children six weeks through five years of age. It is open to
children of active duty military, DoD civilians, contractors of PBA/NCTR and
full time Reservists and National Guard. The Child Development Center's
developmentally appropriate curriculum and low caregiver to child ratio ensure a
supportive, comfortable and accepting atmosphere for every child. Pine Bluff
Arsenal Child Development Services (CDS) programs are designed to help your
child develop within himself/herself a positive self-concept that will help them
develop into productive adults. We strive to do this by providing a
safe, healthy, and stimulating environment where children and youth feel
accepted and respected for being the unique person that he/she is. We provide a
place where they have opportunities to participate in age appropriate,
developmental activities as part of a group or individually that allows for
optimal social, emotional, physical, creative, and cognitive
growth. Our program is a place where children can safely express
their feelings without withdrawing, fighting, or giving up their
rights. We have created a place where they are free to make choices
and then accept the responsibility for the choices they make. Our
character education will help develop and nurture a spirit of cooperation,
creative problem solving, and individual responsibility which will impact
positively upon our children's lives. Income categories are based on Total
Family Income and are standardized throughout the Department of Defense. Hours
of operation are 0600-1730, Monday-Friday. There is also a wonderful School age
services program on-post for all children ages 5-12. Along with the SAS program
we have a great Middle School teen program with services age 12 -18, grades
7th-12th. Please contact Central Registration for more information 870-540-2972.
