TRICARE -- INFORMATION PAPER

SUBJECT:  Implementation of the TRICARE Prime Remote Program at Picatinny Arsenal.

DISCUSSION:  On 1 October 1999, The Department of Defense began implementation of the TRICARE Prime Remote (TPR) Program in Region I. The purpose of the TPR Program is to deliver basic health care to ADSMs stationed/residing more that 50 miles from a military medical treatment facility. Picatinny Arsenal has been designated as a TPR site as of 15 December 1999. This designation enables all ADSMs stationed and/or residing on Picatinny Arsenal eligible to enroll into the TPR Program. By enrolling into the TPR Program ADSMs can access all primary and most specialty care locally from a network of civilian health care providers.

IMPLEMENTATION:  The following implementation guidelines must be followed in order to utilize the TRICARE Prime Remote Program:

All Active Duty Service Members must obtain a TRICARE information packet from your local Army Community Services (ACS) Office located in building 34N.

Carefully review all information enclosed within the packet.

Select a civilian Primary Care Manager (PCM) from the list of providers in the Picatinny Arsenal TRICARE Network Provider Listing.

Fill out and sign a TRICARE Prime Enrollment Change form.

Return the completed paperwork to the ACS Office.
