THULE AB GREENLAND:
Located on the northwest
side of the island of Greenland, Thule AB is the US Air Force's northernmost
base. The majority of enlisted and officers stay in what are referred
to as "high-rises". These are three story buildings with either
private rooms (shared baths) or two room suites with private baths, depending on
availability and rank (E-7 and above are authorized 2 room suites, E-6 and below
share baths). Each floor has a dayroom and a
kitchen. Kitchens have stove, oven, and
microwave. Dayrooms have a big screen TV, stereo and
VCR. Individual rooms have a phone, twin or full-sized bed, dressers,
mirror, desk, two closets, refrigerator and chairs.
They also
have 25" TV w/remote, fan, reclining chair and humidifier. Voltages
are 110V, 60Hz. There is a base exchange located at Thule, and while
it is not as large as its stateside counterparts, you will find the Thule
exchange offers a wide selection of items.
