The
Family Employment Readiness Program (FERP); formerly known as Spouse
Employment Assistance Program (SEAP) at NAS Pensacola offers several
programs which enhance the chances of a military spouse becoming
employed in Pensacola. Some of those services are:
Spouse Intake Workshop
Designed to assist the spouse of a military member find immediate local
employment. Local job recruiters for the Pensacola area are
in attendance, they gather resumes and may set up appointments with
spouses to assist them in finding employment. The FERP
Specialist discusses the job market in Pensacola and provides tips on
how to apply with Federal, State and local agencies. Bring
your resume (if you have one completed).
Career Life Planning
This workshop is to assist personnel into transitioning into a new career field. Covers topics such as:
Skills Inventory, Networking with a career purpose, developing
scannable resumes, resume follow-up, how to request an informational
interview, how to market your skills and abilities using today's
technology, seeking portable careers that accommodate the military
lifestyle.
Career Life Planning Workshop is held once a month with a class maximum of 12. Call to sign up.
Resume Referral
FERP maintains a resume bank for clients to be referred to companies wishing to employ a military spouse.
Job Board
FERP sponsors a job board with employment opportunities in the Pensacola area.
