MISSION: To fully support the operational and training missions of tenants assigned; enhancing the readiness of the U.S. Navy, its sister armed services and other customers enabling them to meet mission requirements.

HISTORY:  NAS Pensacola is known as the Cradle of Aviation and was the first site of an established Naval Aviation command during WWI. For a thorough history of NAS Pensacola Region, visit the installation web site.

SPONSORSHIP: Sponsors are provided for permanent duty personnel, sponsors are not provided for students.  If you would like to have a sponsor go to the Command Sponsor area for the contact information for your Sponsor Coordinator.  All reporting personnel are required to check in at the NAS Pensacola Quarter Deck (850-452-3100 Ext. 0) in the Uniform of the Day with orders in hand.  You will be directed to your respective command from there. For your specific command phone number refer to the Major Unit Listing, or contact the Relocation Office. For change of address for incoming mil pers make sure you contact your recieving command (Admin Dept) and let them know you will be forwarding your mail and will pick it up upon your check-in.  See the Major Unit Listing for contact information.  This is only a temporary measure - you will be responsible for establishing a permanment change of address through the US Post Office as part of your check-in procedures.

TEMPORARY QUARTERS: Single Military Personnel, E-4 and below, will be provided a room in the barracks.  There are no Geo Bachelor Quarters available and if you are enlisted E5 or above you will be required to reside in the community.  All Visiting personnel should check in at Building 600.  Make your reservations at the Navy Lodge, Oak Grove Trailer Park/Camp Site/Cabins as soon as possible, especially during our tourist season - rentals are difficult to locate and have become expensive since the hurricanes. Leave your family members in place until you have acquired a living space.  For assistance with temporary lodging while waiting for government quarters (if eligible-must be assigned to NAS Pensacola, Corry Station, Whiting Field or Saufley Field 6 months or longer), or finding community housing, refer to section titled: Housing-Installaion-Temporary Lodging.
