The JOINT NEW PARENTS SUPPORT PROGRAM HAWAI'I, sponsored by Tripler Medical Center, can be contacted at Pager 569-9815.  The program is a family-oriented home visitation program for expecting and new parents.  It offers a comprehensive support system for mothers-to-be, new mothers, and family members, to include parenting classes, support groups, and individual consultations.

Pregnancy, childbirth, and a new baby in the home make a lot of changes in lifestyle, which can be very tiring.  For most young families a mother, grandmother, aunt, sister or close friend can relieve some of the pressures by being there to answer questions and lend a helping hand.  That support often is not available to military families who are stationed far from home, or just arriving at a new duty station.  A home visitor is a friend who calls on families-to-be or families adding a new member.  She will be your "friend in need" and be there to help you take care of yourself and your new baby.
