Remember to come to the Housing Welcome Center before you enter
into a rental lease or purchase agreement. You will be informed if
the base has a list of housing restrictions approved by the Installation
Commander. Available at the Housing Welcome Center is current
information on local rental and sale properties and information to help renters
understand their rights and obligations. You will be given a booklet
about Maryland landlord/tenant laws. This booklet covers topics
dealing with applications, security deposits, rent escrow and where to seek help
if problems arise. A wealth of additional information is readily
available such as lists of temporary lodging, real estate offices and schools in
the area.
