Spouse/family member employment assistance is available at the Career Development & Resource Center (FFSC).  Individual appointments, classes and assess to computers/internet are offered. Family Members may receive assistance with many aspects of the employment process - identifying interests and strengths, job search - in the local area and beyond, getting advise on resumes/applications, interviews, networking, etc.

Unemployment Compensation for Military Spouses

Effective May 25, 2004, military spouses are now eligible for unemployment compensation in the state of Florida.  In order to apply for unemployment compensation you need to apply through: Internet, telephone, fax, or by mail.  According to Senate Bill sb1606: An individual is not disqualified under this subsection for voluntarily leaving work to relocate as a result of his or her military-connected spouse's PCS (permanent change of station) orders, activation orders (those in the Guard), or unit deployment orders. An individual is not disqualified under this subsection for voluntarily leaving temporary work to return immediately when called to work by the permanent employing unit that temporarily terminated his or her work within the previous six calendar months.

By Phone: (Follow the prompter to file your claim
*Remember to have all the information ready.)

By Fax: (Complete all forms and fax.  Please remember that this is not a local number.)

By Mail: (Complete the form and mail to the Tallahassee office.)

* Please note that if you decide to submit your application by mail it can take an extended period of time before you claim is entered into the system. The preferred method is by telephone or Internet.
