Expectant parents receive medical care at Tyndall AFB medical
facility. The First Time Parents Program provides new parents with
childcare and newborn information, visits in the new child's home, and makes
home visits as needed. It is a voluntary program presenting classes
on preparing for parenthood, breastfeeding, and baby care basics.
Tyndall
AFB Best Beginnings program provides expectant parents and new parents with
babies less than four months old with information and resources for the best
beginning as parents. A layette and a book titled "Your Baby's First
Year" are presented to each couple. The program covers topics
including creative finances for baby, couples communication, and baby
safety.
